So, I woke up this morning to the three best words any mother can hear. Maya has recently started a new tradition of coming into our room before we get up, climbing in the bed and laying quietly with us for about 5 minutes before requesting that cartoons be turned on. Well, this morning she did the same thing, only when she was laying in between Clint and I, so wraps her arms around my neck and says, "I love you mommy!". Of course she has said "I love you" before, however, it's always because Clint or I have said it first. This time it was without prompting and it melted my heart. I want to remember that forever because I know that we will hit the teenage years at some point and I may not hear that phrase for awhile.
Clint has finished painting Maya's room and we are really happy with the way that it has turned out. We found out that the furniture is at the store now and will be delivered on Friday (Yeah!). So, my baby is going to be moving into her big girl room sooner than expected. I'm excited about this, but at the same time very sad. I feel like I just had her and now she's moving out of the nursery to make room for baby brother.
There is nothing like an "I love you" from your baby. Ben does the "out of the blue" I love you's all the time and they still melt my heart everytime.
ReplyDeleteNolan comes in to wake us up in the morning too. I love it until he decides to turn on the light. The out of the blue I love you's make everything worth it!
